Bungalows For Sale in the Junction

Dundas West’s Junction strip, near the West Toronto Railpath and the Stockyards.

The Junction

The Junction grew up around the railway lines in Toronto’s west end and is now known for Dundas Street West’s shops, breweries and restaurants. The Stockyards shopping area and the West Toronto Railpath are close.

Most homes are older detached and semi-detached houses, and bungalows only come up occasionally. When none are listed, this page shows bungalows across Old Toronto. Buyers here often also look in Weston-Pellam Park and the rest of Old Toronto.

Good to know about Junction Area

What type of houses are in the Junction Area?

Mostly late-1800s and early-1900s two-storey detached and semi-detached brick homes, with some later infill on the side streets. A modest bungalow turns up occasionally, but for more choice look further north-west at Rockcliffe-Smythe, where postwar one-storey homes are common.

Is train noise a factor when buying in the Junction?

The area is named for the rail lines that meet here, and freight and GO corridors run along its edges, so you can hear trains on some streets. Visit a property at different times of day before committing. The upside is rail access, with Bloor GO and UP Express station a short trip away for commuters heading downtown or to Pearson.

Can I add a second unit or garden suite to a Junction house?

Toronto permits up to four units as-of-right on most residential lots and has allowed garden suites since 2022, so Junction homes with deep lots or rear lane access can suit a basement apartment or backyard suite. Verify zoning and servicing with the city, and read the Toronto multiplex guide first.

What does Dundas Street West in the Junction offer day to day?

It’s a walkable strip of cafes, restaurants, independent shops and a few grocers, and the Stockyards area to the north has big-box stores. Keele station on Line 2 is a short bus ride south. If you like the area but want more space, browse other Old Toronto bungalows in the west end.
