Eglinton East questions

Is Eglinton East the same as the Eglinton Crosstown area?

No. This neighbourhood is farther east, around Markham Road and McCowan. The Crosstown line ends at Kennedy station to the west. If the location suits you, also check listings in neighbouring Kennedy Park.

What era are most Eglinton East bungalows from?

The detached streets here were largely built in the 1950s and 1960s, so brick bungalows and backsplits are common, many on decent-sized lots. Apartment towers line parts of Eglinton Avenue, but the side streets behind them are mostly low-rise single-family homes.

Is Eglinton East a good fit for a commuter?

It can be. Eglinton GO and Scarborough GO on the Lakeshore East line are a short drive or bus ride for a quick trip to Union Station, and buses along Eglinton run west to Kennedy station for Line 2 and Line 5. If GO access is your priority, also look at Scarborough Village.

Who is buying bungalows in Eglinton East?

First-time buyers, growing families and investors all show up here, drawn by detached homes that are usually more attainable than those near the bluffs. Investors often look for a side door suited to a basement unit, so read up on separate-entrance bungalows if that’s your plan.
