Bungalows For Sale in The Beaches
Boardwalk, Queen Street East and the lake: one of Toronto’s most loved neighbourhoods.
Bungalows in the Beach are rare
The Beaches, often just called the Beach, runs along Lake Ontario from Woodbine Avenue to Victoria Park. It is known for its boardwalk, Kew Gardens, the Queen Street East shops and the 501 streetcar.
Most houses are older two-storey detached and semi-detached homes, and true bungalows almost never come up. When one does, it is usually a small cottage-style home that sells quickly. If nothing is listed here, you will see bungalows from the rest of Old Toronto below. Buyers here often also look in Birchcliffe-Cliffside and the rest of Old Toronto.

Quick answers about The Beaches
Are there real bungalows in The Beaches?
Some, but they are not the norm. The area began as a cottage community, so you will see small detached cottages and one-and-a-half-storey homes next to larger Edwardian houses. Many cottages work like bungalofts, and the Woodbine Corridor just north has similar stock.
What parks and waterfront access does The Beaches offer?
The boardwalk links Woodbine Beach, Kew-Balmy Beach and Ashbridge’s Bay, with Kew Gardens near Queen Street. Glen Stewart Ravine runs north of Queen, and ravine protection rules can limit work on bordering lots. Few areas in Old Toronto combine sand, trails and a shopping street this closely.
How do Beaches residents commute downtown?
The Queen streetcar runs the length of the neighbourhood, and Lake Shore Boulevard and the Gardiner give drivers a direct route. For the subway, buses connect north to Line 2 at Main Street and other stations, and Danforth GO is nearby in East End-Danforth. Commutes are slower than the map suggests at rush hour.
What should I inspect on an older Beaches cottage?
Former summer cottages were sometimes winterized in stages, so check insulation, foundations and the age of the electrical system. Older plumbing, original sewer laterals and damp basements are common. A thorough inspection plus a sewer scope helps you compare the home fairly with recent sold prices.
