How to use a price drop

  • Check the sold history first. A cut doesn’t always mean a bargain. Compare the new price with what similar homes on the street actually sold for.
  • Look at the size of the cut and the timing. A seller who has cut more than once, or cut after a month or more on the market, is usually ready to negotiate further.
  • Ask why. Some cuts follow a failed sale, an inspection issue or a change in the seller’s plans. Your realtor can usually find out.
  • Move quickly on the good ones. A well-located bungalow that drops to a fair price can draw several buyers within days.

Frequently asked questions

How many bungalows have had a price drop?

The totals at the top of each section update every hour: how many bungalows for sale have a lower price than when they were first listed, how many were cut in the last week, and the typical size of a cut.

Are price-reduced bungalows a good deal?

Sometimes. A cut often brings an overpriced home back in line with the market rather than below it. Compare the new price with recent sales nearby before you decide.

Can I get an alert when a bungalow drops its price?

Yes. With a free BungalowConnect account you can save any home and get an email the moment its price drops, and set up listing alerts for the areas you’re watching.
